The late night ice cream run I was thinking about at the end of my last post definitely happened! It was a necessary study break. I was about to get my favorite flavor (One Sweet Whirled) when I noticed they had a new flavor— Chocolate Macamedia!
There were dark chocolate covered macadamia nuts in vanilla and chocolate swirled ice cream! You can’t really see any of the nuts in this picture, but they were there. And they were fantastic!
This morning I woke up and wanted to make some oatmeal, but we had no milk!!! When this happens in the morning, and I need milk immediately, I walk across the street to my favorite coffee shop and get some coffee with a separate cup of milk.
So I go over to the coffee shop, and I remember that Wednesday is $2 Latte Day!!! Any size latte for just $2. How can I pass up this deal? I get an idea…I can get a big latte, and use some of it for my oatmeal instead of milk! And so this was born:
In the bowl:
- 1/3 cup oats
- 1/3 cup latte
- 1/3 cup water
- a banana
- toppings: extra banana, flax, and Kashi Go Lean
These were awesome! I think I will start doing this every Wednesday. Here is the drink that was the star of these oats:
Yes, their cups are ecofriendly! I think they are made from corn products instead of paper…not sure how this works, but that’s what they say.
This coffee also helped me get through my morning which was stressful!! I was finishing up a few case study problems when I noticed a new grade posted online. The teacher had just posted our last case study grade….it said I got a 99/150. That’s a 66%! FAIL! I flipped out: I’m going to fail my nutrition intervention class, I’m not going to graduate on time, I’m a terrible student, I’m probably doing this case study all wrong, too….
So I basically worked on my case study due today up until the last possible second, trying to put in every possible piece of relevant info. I printed it out 5 minutes before class started, turned it in, and the teacher announces to the class, “Sorry if I scared anyone this morning….I was in a hurry and accidentally entered in your percent grade instead of your points out of 150.” THANK GOODNESS! I got a 99%. Not a 99/150. I’m going to graduate college. Phew.
So that was my hump day. Can’t wait for the weekend! Also, there are a ridiculous amount of contests going on right now (which I love), including these that I’m trying to win:
- Emily is making an adorable I Love Oatmeal shirt
- Jumbo Empanadas is giving away a Vita Mix
- Melissa is giving away LOTS of almonds
