Not for me!! But I had my whole family thinking I was for April Fool’s Day yesterday! Here is the e-mail I sent out to multiple family members:
Mom: Wow…I know you can do it!!! I want to come watch you. xoxo.
I guess I should have expected this, since they are awesome, but it made it hard to have to tell them that I am actually not that athletically ambitious, but their responses made me wish that I was! I finally send them an e-mail at the end of the day saying “APRIL FOOLS” and explaining that I am only a normal distance triathlete for now…:)
Good eats from yesterday:
Oatmeal with banana, Kashi Go Lean, lots of strawberries, cinnamon, and flax.
The close up: I like to pour milk over my oats and stir it up
Black beans (cooked with Emeril’s Southwest Seasoning!) and sauteed spinach over a baked sweet potato. YUM!
Before going off to study with some friends for our Medical Nutrition Therapy Test (I studied ALL DAY yesterday for this!) I made myself half of a turkey, hummus, and avocado sandwich and half of a toasted banana and spinach sandwich. Yes, that’s right….banana and spinach! I find that spinach goes with well with pretty much everything!
I left our study session to go to swim practice…swimming has this incredible ability to reduce my anxiety sooo much! And then returned after picking up some after swim snacks from Publix: Oikos vanilla yogurt, blackberries, and a Cashew Cookie Larabar.
The comments about my food from my friends were amusing….
Friend 1: “What kind of yogurt is that?”
Me: “It’s organic greek vanilla yogurt. It has twice as much protein as the normal Publix yogurt. Want to try?”
Friend 1: “Sure!” *tries bite of yogurt and makes face*
Me: “It’s not very sweet, and its pretty thick. You have to get used to it…”
Friend 1: “Yeah, I don’t really like it…”
Friend 2: *picks up Larabar* “What’s this?”
Me: “A cashew cookie Larabar! They are really good and they don’t have many ingredients.”
Friend 2: *reads* “Cashews, Dates.”
Friend 2: “You eat funny food.”
Haha, I guess a several years ago, I might have thought foods like greek yogurt and Larabars were strange, too. I’ve gotten used to people commenting on the things I like to eat since they tend to be different from the majority. Do you all ever get comments on the things you eat?
