First of all, I made it through my hell week!!! YAY!! Two tests, a project, a case study, and a paper = DONE! TGIF!!!!!!!! (I’m not worrying about my other case study due Tuesday until at least Sunday…)
Other exciting news: I just got some wonderful local food! Yesterday afternoon, I picked up my order from athens.locallygrown.net. This is a website where you can support local farmers and get really fresh and delicious food! Check out what I got:

Freshly laid eggs from pasture raised chickens

Swiss chard!! Branching out from spinach...swiss chard is so colorful and delicious!

locally made granola...yum!!

Brussels Sprouts???
So I ordered brussels sprouts expected those little leafy balls, and this is what I got! I’m a little confused about what I’m supposed to do with these…..any suggestions??? I’ll probably just sauteed them…
Eggs and Swiss Chard in action:

Last night after spin class I fried one of my local eggs and topped it with swiss cheese, had some Kashi 7-grain pilaf with red and green peppers, and sauteed a piece of swiss chard!
This was much tastier and more satisfying than the Clif bar I tried to refuel with last week (also more calories, but I work out pretty hard, so I need it!). Sometimes I feel like I shouldn’t eat a whole meal so late at night after practice (got back from gym and showered at 10PM), but making some real food makes me feel better than just eating a bar.
This is proof that the “don’t eat late at night” rule is not true….this rule made me paranoid as a teenager (before I knew a lot about nutrition) after Oprah told everyone that her #1 weight loss rule was “no eating after 7PM.” Are there any nutrition myths that you used to buy into that you have gotten over?
