Easter Sweets!!

Apparently, my dog likes ice cream as much as I do. We caught here licking the ice cream container clean after I was done with it yesterday:

Her entire face was in the ice cream container when we caught her, but she whipped it out as soon as she realized we were there, lol. I don’t blame her…cookie dough ice cream is some good stuff!

Now onto Easter baking! We had so many desserts at my house last night due to my sister’s baking spree, it was ridiculous!

Dessert #1= Fudge Puddles

She used this recipe, but used cashew butter in the crust instead of peanut butter. The “puddles” had sweetened condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butterscotch chips. Talk about decadence!

Dessert #2: Black Bottom Cupcakes

That’s the chocolate chip marscapone filling for the cupcakes!!!

Recipe can be found here.

And finally…Dessert #3: Kitchen Sink Cookies

These have everything in them except the kitchen sink!

The exact recipe came from Stick, Chewy, Messy, Gooey cookbook, but a very similar can be found here. We basically used the proportions of the recipe I just linked to, but with different mix ins. You could really put almost anything you want in these! We used:

  • Chocolate chips
  • Special K cereal
  • Butterscotch chips
  • Walnuts
  • White chocolate chips

Warning: These are incredibly addictive!!!

After trying ALL of these desserts, everyone in my family voted on their favorite.

The vedict??

Little brother and Mom liked the fudge puddles the best.

Sister and I liked the cupcakes the best. **Chocolate lover alert: The cupcakes hands down had the most intense chocolate flavor! Plus lots of ooey goodness inside!

Dad ate everything, but couldn’t pick a favorite! Honestly, everything was really really good!

We also went out to Easter brunch on Sunday morning (and had wonderful food, of course), but I think I will save that recap for the next post! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Hahahah LOVE the pic of your dog!! That is too funny! My dog would definitely do the same thing…in fact any dog would, they love icecream.

omg, all those desserts look and sound like heaven!! What a great idea for the cupcake decorating to use cut up marshmallows!! I am totally remembering that!

Haha–that pic reminds me of when we give my dog the PB jar–it keeps him occupied for hours.

    1. My dog is like a crack addict when it comes to ice cream! Her little eyes BUG out of her head when we’re in the drive through and then she just demolishes it (we get her a kiddie size). She literally turns psycho!
    2. Your sister is quite the Betty Crocker – looks fantastic!!

first of all – that may be the cutest dog picture I have ever seen. You have to submit that to a calendar or some contest or something.

and black bottoms used to be my favorite – now I am wondering why I havent had them in so long since they are incredible!

Love the dog pic! We had a golden retriever do that once only the container got stuck on his head. We had to grab the camera before helping him out! =)

Caroline: COCONUT! Oh yeah!! Very important…thanks for the correction (I think oats are already in the recipe I linked to.) Glad the boys liked the sweets :)

My mom used to make cookies like fudge puddles, but she would just used mini Reese’s as the center instead.
