Summer Grilling Food Porn

This is why I love summer:

I think the heat in Georgia impairs my desire to write in complete sentences, which is why my blogging frequency has drastically reduced.

How have I been using my summer free time? Reading. Finally! I have trouble reading for pleasure during school because I always feel like I should be studying. So far this summer I have read:

  • To Kill a Mockingbird – I somehow made it through high school English without ever reading this book. I’m sooo glad I finally did! My new favorite book of all time by far!
  • The Bell Jar –Could barely put it down. Read it in 2 days.
  • The Secret Life of Bees –Some very sad parts, but also very uplifting. Made me crave honey :) . Does anyone know if the movie is any good?

I have also been corrupting my brain (and thoroughly enjoying it)  by reading stories from tuckermax.com. This guy graduated from Duke Law, decided he didn’t want to be a lawyer, and ended up making a living off writing about his drunken sexcapades. (He also has a book: I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell). His stories are crude, offensive, and completely hilarious! This is by far the most entertaining website ever. As if you need more unproductive things to do on the internet…

Up next is a random book called Truelove and Homegrown Tomatoes that I found at a local used book store. I was definitely attracted to it mainly because “tomatoes” are in the title. And what is better in the summer than fresh tomatoes??

2 Questions: What is your favorite food to grill? AND What is your favorite book? Just curious…and looking for ideas :) . Hope you all are having a great summer!

P.S. To follow up on my last post, there is still no word on the cause of the fire to the Georgia Theatre, but there has been a HUGE outpouring of support from the Athens community. I love my town. There were benefit concerts all last weekend to raise money for the employees (what would you do if the place where you worked burned down!??) and for the rebuilding. You can also become a fan of rebuilding the Georgia Theatre on Facebook (there are over 12,000 fans so far!).
